Emily Powell has more than 12 years of experience working on large scale water and infrastructure outreach and education programs for various clients throughout California. Emily has extensive experience with strategic planning, community outreach and stakeholder engagement, public meeting coordination, construction relations as well as tour and event planning. Her work is focused on ensuring consistent communication with various stakeholders and local groups about projects. She oversees a team of practitioners who plans and implements various activities to highlight the successes of outreach and communication programs.
Emily Powell has been with Katz & Associates since 2005 starting in the San Diego office. In 2010, she re-located back to where she was from, the San Francisco-Bay Area, and served as an on-site communication manager working closely with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC). Since her time in the Bay Area, Emily has managing the San Francisco-Bay Area Team and clients as well as the becoming the Deputy Water Practice Leader in 2015 and a Director for Katz & Associates in 2016.
She is currently the Chair of Communications and Customer Service Committee for the American Water Works Association CA-NV Chapter. Previously Emily served as the Events Director and the Professional Development Director for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) San Francisco Chapter Board.
