About This Project
South Coast Water District provides water and sewer service to most of Dana Point, South Laguna Beach, and parts of San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano in Southern Orange County, Calif. The District relies almost solely on imported water but is pursuing ocean water desalination for a local, reliable and drought-proof water supply for a sustainable future. K&A was brought on for the planning and implementation of community outreach for the Doheny Ocean Desalination Project.
As part of the project, the K&A team developed a comprehensive strategic communication plan as a roadmap for all communication efforts from design through the commissioning of a desalination facility. In addition, K&A developed project branding and a suite of informational materials, including website content, printed materials, bill inserts, presentations and a project overview video. Creating the branding and informational materials early ensured their use was maximized through the project.
