17 Jan ENGAGE! Public Participation Practice Training
Join public participation specialists, Katz & Associates, Bang the Table and Participation by Design for a one-day, joint public participation practice training.
This training is designed to help explore the questions:
- “What do I need to know to choose the right engagement techniques?”
- “Where and how can online tools enhance the engagement process?”
The training will:
- Establish a concrete foundational understanding of the principles of effective public participation
- Explore the factors that need to be considered when selecting engagement techniques and tools
- Present best practices for effective in-person and online tool integration
Grounded in public participation best practices established by the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) and informed by countless years of experience across the United States on a variety of projects, this training will challenge participants to assess their own public participation approach, and come away with the ability to:
- Articulate the purpose and value of public participation
- Decipher the need for public participation and select the appropriate engagement level for their project
- Coordinate audience identification, tool selection, and management of risks
- Identify where and how online tools can enhance your projects
- Develop a strategic checklist for your engagement processes
